Glove box lock? - XBimmers.com

So I\'ve read through the whole manual and I\'m stunned to find no way to lock the glove box or center console. Is there a way that I\'m completely oblivious of?

Wait till you realize there is no passenger grab handle either...

Hi Princesmooth

Yes the glove box does lock when you lock the car, get some one to sit in the car when you lock the door and try to open the glove box.

The hatch door in the trunk space (where a compact spare would go) can be locked. I know it is not as convenient as a lockable glove box or console in the main camera but the key lockable truck hatch is comes in handy for me when I valet my car. You can separate the key from the wireless portion and then give the valet just the wireless portion.

I was wondering why they even bothered with a key that could be separated. I figured it would be like any other bimmer in terms of locking the glovebox...

They really did mess up on basic NECESSITIES on this one.

the lack of remote start is just absurd and it still bothers me. other than that i love the truck!

no passenger grab handle in the back is a major issue with my wife sitting in the back with our kid.

Someone mentioned door sills. I've got the hybrid. What door sills are you referring to? Yeah, no sunglass holder and no auto dimming on the navigation system. Amazing.
