u just want purely economy based beater? no performance or asthetic concern whatsoever? i think id prob go for a semi low mileage civic or acura cl s-type maybe those are solid cars, good mileage and low maintnance. any honda, acura toyota sedan ull be fine man.

I was thinking about a honda, never had one but everyone says they are very good cars when it comes to gas consumption and maintenance cost. I dont care about performance or asthetics of the car, but i wouldnt drive a prius or the leaf thing, just not my type of tea.

then tbh id prob just try to get a super sick deal on a old ford escort obv with semi low mileage or 90's oldsmobile or any old craigslist special imo. u can get a good "beater" commuter car very reliable especially if asthetics and performance are not an issue. dont spend ur 10k bro, save that shit and buy 2k throw aways and just drive em into the ground. civic or low mileage escort for 2-3k is ur best bet imo. and the other thing is if u buy those types u can drive em till u feel an issue arise and then just resell them for basically what u bought it for to a less savy buyer.

I dont want to get a beater that i have to work on and fix it all the time neither, its hard to find a good one in good shape for that cheap. Honda civic would probably be my best option, that is if i could find a good one for cheap.

Thanks

Feel like if you go too cheap you will loathe driving it...Don't know about you but I would hate driving a beat civic that some poor dude has been sweating in for the last 50k miles of its life.

For 10k I would look to an mk5 VW gti/gli/rabbit/jetta. I had a 2006 gli 6spd and I loved it for what it was. Wasn't fast and lacked the driving dynamics I enjoy, but I had a giac tune on the 2.0t which made it somewhat quick and enjoyable. I couldn't stand the plaid interior so I got the black leatherette/sunroof model. VW makes a very good product and I will likely get another one when I need a beater again. Sold mine to carmax with 63k miles for 9k...had zero issues. You might be able to find a tdi for that much...

Get a Jeep Liberty. You can find some nice 05s for under 10. Good cars for all uses.

Prius = , i would die if i have to drive one of these bad boys...

no manual tranny for me, 50 miles commute each way and traffic, sux to change gears ever 2 seconds...

Kia- that car looks like its gonna fall apart after i drive it once to work...they look like disposable items to me, use it once and trash it...

will definitively look at the vw, they look decent, good gas consumption and some performance if needed.

Miata is nice for DD, I had 2 before. It's really fun. For $10K you might lucky to find the Mazdaspeed. Gl
For me, people only lives once why not drive the nice car you already have. It's just a car but it's just me
