E70 Tail Indicator LED?

I have a weird question. My 2012 X5 M Sport tail indicator lights don't seem to be LED? I was under the impression that they should be.

Basically they don't illuminate with that 'sharpness' I see with the side and front indicators. Am I crazy?

bumping this one - hoping to get some insights.

Talking specifically about the tail light indicators. Even the 3 series seem to have full LED lighting but 2012 X5 M Sports seem to have all except the tail indicator. Am I wrong?

why did you think they should be LED in the first place?

They are regular incandescent automotive bulbs. This light that goes on the liftgate is LED (arrows) and it has to be replaced as a whole unit. I thought mine was blown but it was just a loose connector that was easy to fix.

Sorry - I forgot I bumped it

Actually the dealer told me so So found it strange one morning as my wife drove off and flipped on the signal that they weren't 'popping' like LED bulbs do when illuminated.
