2002 X5 Check Engine Light/Problems

Hi, i have a 2002 bmw X5 3.0i and i when i drove it yesterday it was acting funny, and i was wondering if there was anyone who could help me out.

When i drove to work yesterday every time i stopped or took a slow left or right turn sign the x5 dies on me and the check engine light comes on. This is the first repair im looking to do with my X5, however i do have mechanical experience with
