There are several comments from people saying their X6 is far more comfortable than their X5
BMW tweaked the X6 for a different customer. Could be a weight balance issue or the weight of the active diff on the X6...? But yes, the X6 does ride the ruts marginally better than an X5 IMHO. I have driven 2 X6 5.0 an 09' and a 10' with 20 inch sport pack for a total of a week (same owner - good friend who totaled the 09').

Tell you what... I'll report back once the M performance X6 without AD comes in and I drive it a bit. I'll be able to compare it to the X5 since we'll have both for a week or two.

DRP

details....

Does anyone know what the exhausts will look like on the LCI car w/ M perf. pack?

The 50d features black chrome oval tips. Maybe the 5.0 with M perf. will have the same? I wonder if they'll still use the round tips for a 3.5 M perf.? The M sport LCI X5 3.5 switched to oval tips and it also uses a sport muffler.

Interestingly there seem to be some LCI X6 parts already showing up on realoem.com albeit with no part numbers (i.e. there are 4 different fog light surrounds shown [silver lci, black lci, pre-lci and 50d with just horizontal slats). Also shown is a sport exhaust for the 3.5i. So, it seems that that's a good possibility there will be a bespoke exhaust on M perf. cars (at least the 3.5 - the V8 has a great exhaust note already). BMW has a history of not fully releasing all the details on the various option packages.

Has anyone heard any rumors/details on the LCI exhaust?

I was told the 3.5 will still have the round and the 5.0 will have the oval. They most likely will come in black with the M perf. pack along with some other black trim thus the black foglight surrounds you saw on realoem as well.

If you are a 112 status, then you are scheduled for daily production (you can still make changes at this point, so that should keep you up at night a bit longer questioning all of your choices - I almost went with Deep Sea Blue during this status )

Next is 150 - "production started". Then you are toast.

I seem to remember my car was 112 for a week or so. Then 150 and then done (I did PDC, so it did not matter, but they still produced it a month early). A friend of mine ordered an X5 several years ago. From order to delivery was less than 2 weeks (Chicagoland).

So I would say that once you go 150, you have somewhere between a one to two week wait. Unless you get one of those cars that doesn't start after being produced. Kind of sad to see that. A guy comes in with a dolly, and one handed (I think he was showing off), lifts the car and drags it away..... sniff sniff.

PS - this might help. Courtesy of Brett Midgley of Autohaus BMW

Thanks Doug999 for the info. I just recieved my production number today. When I put in the production number on the MyBMW, it states, "We are currently processing you order and will inform you once your BMW enters production. The 800 number states, "Scheduled for production, no production date. However my CA told me today again, mid May for production. While I was on the phone, he also took some info for my PCD. This whole process is going to drive me bananas!:

Well just watch, you car will be produced in mid April and you will have to sit there knowing that your car is done and waiting at the PC and you can't do a darn thing about it until you get there. BTW, there are four delivery areas at the PCD. If you are really REALLY lucky, you get one of the two in the entrance and so when you walk into the PC, you see something like this

2013 X6M new car order: New member here, I received my VIN number yesterday and the dealer says my car is in production and should be delivered to my dealer early next week. Still having website issues but BMW says all should be fixed by the 19th of April.

Hmmm...

Cars in. Saw it for a hot minute in the lot (rainy day - shipping spacer ride height .... it will look better on delivery - the 336 rims are nice).

Here's what's odd though: both the front fog light surround and rear tailpipes (circular) are silver - not black. The build your own images show the car with black fog surrounds and black chrome tailpipes.

I wonder if this is a glitch b/c its one of the 1st 13's?

I'll attempt to order the black surrounds tomorrow from Circle BMW and also inquire as to whether the retrofit oval exhaust kit is now available in black?

Last thing. I'm excited about the car and its beautiful, but it sounds like a subcompact on startup? I know there is an exhaust valve that can be tied open, but I've also read that the kit to retrofit the oval V8 tips to a 3.5 removes said valve entirely, thereby giving you the open sound at startup.

We drove the V8 and the sounds out the exhaust were deliciously burly and brutish. She thought it sounded like a man's car - I agreed. But this 3.5 sounds like an electric car. I was hoping that the M performance pack might have included a performance muffler...but it definitely does not.

I'll post some pics after delivery.

Regards,
Dr.

Awesome! Were you able to see the sticker? Was Active Steering really on there for free?

Did you order M performance Pkg?
It includes black chrome exhaust tips. According to BMWUSA.com, the silver inserts around the fog lights will be replace with Black.

Yes. M performance pack is on the car. Personally, I think BMW f'd up.

These parts are easily retrofitted though.

Come to think of it, not sure if the car even had the m door sills and pedals?

Has the msport steering wheel and 336 wheels though. Odd right?

Wait there's more... err... less

Our 2013 X6 with M performance package is also missing the doorsills - as in it has none. Not even the regal ones. M dead pedal is there as are stainless brake pedal and throttle. Heated Msport steering wheel is there thank god. The LEDs are on it as well.

The doorsills, fog light surrounds and exhaust tips are cosmetic. These parts can be retrofitted easily. But I have 2 issues and we'll see how BMW handles them...

1) What about the uprated N55hp engine (same as on the 640 and gran coupe). What if that was overlooked as well? I'm not sure its just software? That's a potential buyback issue. I'll be satisfied if service can confirm its the correct engine;

2) Although the parts are essentially snap on, they are (except for the door sills) new for 2013 - black satin exhaust tips and LCI black fog light surrounds...which means "extras" will be hard to get. To that I say take it off the production line and let someone else wait. The mistake is on their shoulders, I'm not content taking a number and waiting if the parts "are on backorder from Germany".

The car looks great. I'll get all this sorted out but frankly this is a shocking mistake for a company like BMW in 2012.

I just found these pics from BMW dealer. It is 2013 X6 50i with M Performance Pkg. I just wanna compare them with the images from BMWUSA.com

As you can see, There are M foot rest & Stainless Brake pedal but NO Stainless throttle

I ordered M performace Pkg and don't know what to do
