Thanks. The site claims no increased fuel consumption, does your friend report that too? Such inexpensive and substantial power upgrade without side effects sounds too good to be true . . . to me, so I need to dig a little deeper into it.

mileage 2012 X5M
With a little over 4000 miles on my 2012 X5M am getting 17-18 mpg with open freeway driving at 70-75mph, and 15-16 mph with combined (mostly) freeway and short surface road use. Needless to say this excludes stop and go traffic and any spirited use of the vehicle. Coming from an older Merc Mountaineer V8 its not bad!

Grisselizing
Hey Biff you must live in the foothills or the desert! (LOL). Very few places in a major California metro area like SF Bay can one regularly find the room to safely "Grisselize" as you apparently have been doing to average below 14 mpg. Either that or you do some heavy contributions to the CHP Benevolent Association from your oil and gas stock dividends! :>) I am sure you are enjoying the ride in any event. Even at 17mpg I think most of us would agree the X5M is a bull.

3000 miles still ranging at 13-13.7 area. Never pass 14. Personally the only time I take it easy is when the engine is cold, as soon as I see the oil temp reaching 6:00 o'clock position it is down to the gas pedal she goes.

We JUST bought ours today. We had to come back from Bakersfield up the mountain and into the desert. my wife drove because I got a wicked headache at the dealer (no not normal) and she is very concerned about the milage and we got 19 with her having the cruise control on the whole way and not even knowing what M Drive is.
I am thinking coming back from Mammoth to our hose in the mojave and we should be pushing 20MPG (downhill the whole WAY)

i have almost 6k miles on mine and i have never gotten above 13.3 mpg and i drive between vegas and cali on open freeway for 600 mile stretches i dont see how this 7mpg diffrence is possible? even if i drive more aggressivly and have a tune? are u never driving ur truck in "m" more or moving ur shifter to the left and engaging "sport" mode? even if not it still seems like an impossible discrepancy imo. i just cant stand driving my truck in non sport mode, it has such a terrible throttle lag and by 40mph its already in 5th gear.
