Resale values on 07-10 4.8i
First time lurker and poster.
I'm in the market for an 07-08 4.8i but am a bit fearful that 2011's update on the X5 with the twin turbo 6 might affect resale value on older X5s. Anyone have any thoughts? Just doing my homework before I buy. Edmunds predicts that an 07-08 4.8i will lose $20K in value over 5 years. This is comparible to other luxury Japanese SUVs in a lower price range which is making the X5 that much more attractive of a buy. Not to mention, I hate the beak on the MDX. |

It might a bit just being that you can get better gas mileage with just 50hp. less. That's pretty good IMHO. Just got a certified 08 4.8 with 34K on it for just under 40K$ with just about everything on it except cold weather pkg but finding a 08 4.8 certified with less than 40K miles on it wasn't easy. I purposely stayed away from the 07s just because it was the first year change. Could mean nothing.

wow STOM, you got a great deal! I purchased mine a few weeks ago, 07 sport w/o rear entertainment and ventilated seats for 37750 CPO'd with 39k. (has everything else including 3rd row) hope that helps!
