ESS DirectFlash unit VS. Active Autowerke SIMON
I came across these two handheld devices you can bump your HP.
Active Autowerke clearly seems to give more hp (86 Rear Wheel HP and 117 Ft lbs) compared to ESS's (40-50whp range). Whats your thoughts on these guys? Is it safe to increase the power so much without reinforcing transmission? Which one seems more reliable? I recently read about the blown out rear axle of an X5M which had installed ESS ESS: http://www.esstuning.com/products/ES...-Software.html Active Autowerke: http://store.activeautowerke.com/act...px?Thread=True http://store.activeautowerke.com/act...px?Thread=True |

I am also debating -currently running dinan but not happy with the gains , I am looking at renntech or AA. I like that the AA is a hand held and u can reflash if the dealer ever does updates and wipes out the tune. I am just a bit skeptical about the claimed gains of AA. Any input ?

i have the AA tune in mine with 22" ADV-1's and the car still moves like a beast. Shifting was a bit rough at first, but after a few drives the car figured out that it just got juiced lol Now, it's just as smooth as before, and the power delivery is amazingly steady and just a bit quicker than stock.
I love the tune, and I will most likely get the down-pipes too if Andy gives me a good deal The Simon module is super easy to use, and it saves both your files (Tune and Stock) on the Simon so you can switch back anytime you need to.... In case your dealer is a PITA about that stuff.
