Extended Warranty on 2013 X5 with 44000 Miles
I recently got my first BMW i.e. X5. It's a 2013 X5 Xdrive 35i Premium with 44000 miles. It's non BMW certified but clean carfax report. Since last 3 days I have been researching on extended warranty and am now more confused than ever before. Can someone help?
This car is for my wife who is a homemaker so max. it'll be driven is 2500 miles / year. I plan to keep this car for at least 5 years so I'm looking at extended total warranty of 7 years / 70,000 miles i.e. 3 years / 20,000 miles after expiration of BMW warranty. My questions are : 1) Should I go with BMW or third party ? If third party which one would be best value for money? I don't want to compromise on quality and service but do care about $$. 2) Should I go with just the extended warranty OR extended warranty + maintenance plan ? 3) In BMW extended plan there are 3 options viz. Platinum, gold OR power-train plus. Which is best value for money ? Regards Leo |

IMO….2500 miles driven per year, I don't know that any warranty, BMW or aftermarket, will be worth the $?
I don't think enough things will go wrong to offset the cost of any warranty. Unless you have a major repair Otherwise I'd just let it ride…but that's just me. |

I put @ 5k/year on mine-no warranty. The maintenance plan is a rip off, since the service intervals are so far apart, especially for low mileage. I recommend leaving the $ in the bank.

Extended Warranty on 2013 X5 with 44000 Miles
I have Delta Auto Protect for about a year now and about 3 months after I signed up with them I heard a noise in my 2006 BMW X5. I brought it to my BMW shop where I’ve been going for years. Turns out I needed engine mounts. I was skeptical at first when I signed up but at the end of the day I was very satisfied with them. Their ASE Tech spoke one on one with my tech Jeff and the claim was done within 20 minutes. I would definitely recommend them. Here is the link if you want to check them out.
