What should I be paying???

What are you guys paying for X6 50 model. I'm thinking about ordering one, but my SA is telling me no discount. Are they selling at sticker, mark up or discounted in this economy?

In LA you will probably have a very difficult time getting anything off MSRP. In Dallas I was able to get $1,800 off MSRP but I also ordered a 2008 in June so it was a late model. Glad I did too because now that is equal to about $5k off price because the 2009 models had a hefty price increase.

shenard is right. In NJ they are selling above MSRP, but I had a hook-up and got a $1k price break off MSRP.

I too ordered in June but got bumped to a later production that promised and moved into an 09, for which the dealer and I split the $3k price increase (so I really paid $500 more than an '08 sticker for an '09). I really was not happy during the whole negotiation, but am happy now that I have the car.

Good luck!

My dealer has committed to 5% off of list price, including all options, here in Los Angeles.
I am waiting for the March iDrive update, and my order is in. I think the absolute best deal you might get would be about $1500 over invoice, unless you are personal friends with the dealer.

The March 09 X6 production should get the 4th generation (new) iDrive system.

I had a chance to look and play with the new system... WOW what an improvement. Based on that, I decided that I am going to wait for the new iDrive system.

I should have waited for 09 M3. For the new Idrive.

I went back and looked at my bill of sale and I was mistaken. My deal was $1500 off msrp but they also threw in the rear mount bike rack which I believe was around $400-450.

I find it very hard to believe that any dealer in the country would sell for 5%
list price when dealers are not even getting enough to keep up with demand, especially in LA of all places. That is over $3k off sticker and if that is really your deal then I would jump all over it.

Believe it, it's true

I have a signed order commitment letter.

They sell more BMW's in Los Angeles than anyplace else in the US. The dealers here have tons of turnover with lease returns, new vehicle going out. They are also aggressively trying to get internet business, and presold orders. There are many, many dealers and they all know you can email them all and ask for their best deal. Add it all up, and you get good pricing out here.

Can you post pics with bike rack installed? How easy is it to use? Do you prefer it over the rear hitch/bike rack option?

Yes will do this next week when I get it back from dealer. I think it is much better and more cost effective than having a hitch installed for a bike rack. I did not want to have a hitch installed because it looks ugly when the bike rack is not attached. With the route I went you do not see anything different when the rack is not being used because the rack slides right into the section on the rear bumper where the two tow hooks screw in. You simply slide the rack in and tighten the two bolts and in about 3-5 minutes you can fully remove or install the bike rack. Great way to go if you do not need to use it everyday and the best part is that even when the bikes are on the rack, the rack will slide down and out of the way so you can open the trunk.

Sounds cool. I would also like to see some pics...

How often did you mount/unmount the bike rack so far?

8 or 9 times. Rack is very durable.

I'm trying to decide if I should get a trailer hitch (to pull the speed boat or the seadoos) or just get a bike rack like yours for the bikes...

I was concerned that once the dealer installs the hitch on the X6, it would make the back end look crappy... but judging by the pictures bak just posted in another tread, it doesn't look that bad. Hope he can post some better pictures from further away from the car to get a better look at what the X6 backend with an installed hitch looks like. Hope the weather clears up so that he can take some nice pictures

Same goes for you shenard, hope the weather improves and gives you some nice sunny days
