Folks - I have a 'new to me' 2012 X5M and the DRL bulb sockets that the bulbs twist into to mount in place have disintegrated - bulbs are just dangling by the wires inside the housing. The Xenon sockets are fine. I've looked around and talked to a bmw master mechanic and it appears you cannot buy just the sockets for the DRL (even though they are mounted inside the housing with two Torx screws).

So I've been looking at aftermarket replacement headlights and am confused about compatibility. According to realoem.com, my X5M uses headlights with part numbers: 63117287017 for left lift and 63117287018 for right light. Adaptive Xenons. Option codes S522 and S524

When I search for aftermarkets compatible with these, I'm finding ones listed for 2011-2014 X6 models.

Do the later X5Ms like mine share headlights with the X6?

Also, are the headlights for the 2007-2010 X5 different than for the later models? Because I find some places list headlights only for those model years. Other place says their lights work for any e70 X5 model year.

Very confusing

Can you get the part 3D printed?

And, as an owner of a similar X5M myself - I'm severely disappointed in the headlights. They are worse than the LCI headlights in my old 2013 X5 35i. I wonder if you can just swap in the LCI non-M headlights.

Ok - I've confirmed that the 2011+ e70 X5M and e71 X6 share the same headlights. These are different than the non-M e70. In addition to the bumper (obviously), the front fenders are slightly different on the M model. Thus the different parts numbers for e70 M versus non-M.
