Miguel at ECUProgram in Calgary runs that set up on his X5M and it seems to work fine, his rear tires defiantly are stretched a bit though. I was thinking of running the same set up next year.

I'm running a square set up also, Yokohamas though. You just have to watch that curb, other then that no issues. they are rated to fit up to 11" wheels by manufacturer so that's good enough in my book.

Swing by ECUProgram and have a look at Miguel's to give you an idea how they would look. His M is usually parked out front it's kind of down by Chinook.
4505 1st SE. They are good guys if you haven't met them yet, they did a tune and lowered my truck as well as some other work, both guys Sim and Miguel are X5 guys.

Make sure you don't wait until the first snow fall like 98% of people do because you will be waiting weeks or more. By October I try to order my winter tires and get them installed by November early December I also use a dedicated set of winter wheels so once the tires are mounted I can bolt them up when I need to. If you rely on a tire shop I would get them on mid December it may be early but once it snows tire shops are slammed.

I have a squared setup of 275/40/20, but they are Pirelli Winter Carving run flats and I have them on a squared set of dedicated winter wheels 20X10. Here's a pic with 20mm spacer/adapters all around.
