I noticed that too. I found this rather interesting that they would link to websites like flickr.com and quite a few other sites. Also a lot of links to magazine that reported on the X6M or had the chance to test drive the X6M already (although it still was only a prototype...)!

They want to have a website dedicated to enthusiasts... they see the market.. they do their research and they want to host something for the enthusiasts... where we can upload videos and what not. They sent me a message on youtube asking to have my video posted on their stuff.. and i believe it was for free. I dont think i replied but it was cool and interesting. When I get the chances I'd probably just say hell yeah why not. |

This would be perfect! NYC is a big market and the buzz around the BMW booth would be insane.. Gotta love BMW for catering to enthusiasts.

i think it'll start somewhere south of $100k, but tack on a couple of simple options, and you're at $100k+.
i know there are a lot of purists who think the X5 & X6 M are a bastardization of the brand, but i think it's just plain sex on wheels!

I've seen the 1st officially released video clip (with English subtitles) of the X6M when BMW first posted it through the BMW TV website. Unfortunately, half of what they were talking about was not translated or made it into the English subtitles. The driver made a few comments about some of the changes they had made to the setup of the car that I found rather interesting and makes the car feel more like an 'M' version than the regular X6.

a lot of that is done with the shift in driveline power. instead of the usual 40/60% front/rear bias, they're moving more toward a RWD vehicle, with the AWD function available. i don't know what the final numbers will be, but that'll definitely be an improvement in handling.

I think BMW understands marketing and how to create buzz about new products (which they need to do in this economy). As I've said before waiting to see what the price is, If they are going to charge M prices they need to deliver M features. So far from what I've seen (videos) and read not a lot of differentiation between standard 50i model and M version.

wow this is awesome, i cant wait till they release it!
i hope it wont be pushing 100k with just a few options though, but considering the base price of the X5 4.8 and the current state of our economy its probably a possibility. would it be fair to say that the base price could be around 76k? |

no way... it'll definitely cost more than that. the M5 currently costs $85k. with a couple clicks of the mouse, you can easily configure that thing over $100k (better sound system, nicer seats, etc.). given that the X5 & X6M are both testbeds for the next-gen M5/M6 engines, i doubt BMW will let them go for anything less than $95k, plus options and taxes (gas guzzler). figure it this way: this is a premium, premium SUV.
the way i see it is this (conservative #'s): X5M MSRP = $95k X6M MSRP = $99k
