I have a BMW X6 E71 2008.
Recently my left mirror glass cracked slightly and I want to replace it.
My car has "Interior/outside mirror with auto dip (S430A Yes)".
Therefore my guess is that the part number should be 51167174981 and not 51167298157. Right?
51167174981 : Mirror glas, wide-angle, left, For vehicles with Interior/outside mirror with auto dip S430A=Yes
Here is a photo of my cracked mirror, front and back. There are 3 connection areas, where 2 of them seem to be soldered with a wire in between the points. In the last area, top left in photo, there is a flat wire coming out, ending in a socket. This is where a plug connects from the mirror housing.
LH ASPH - probably means Left Hand Aspherical ?
607047 is some code for this mirror but I cannot find it in realoem.com.
(I have also found photos online with mirrors saying 607049 with LH FLAT.)
My issue is that on ebay, when I search for this part number I get all sorts of different rear configurations for this mirror but never one with my configuration.
Most have 2 connection areas, and only some have a set of wires with a similar socket which however are unsoldered.
Has anyone successfully replaced their mirror glass with one of these Chinese variants? How did you solder the wires - to which terminals? And what about the 3rd section which has no pins - does it affect anything?
I hope I can successfully utilize one of these mirrors with some of your help.
