By new do you mean the E70 X5? If that's the case then I have an X5 2007 4.8i.
I love it to death.
As for the gas mileage, that's another story. On the highway, during a Montreal-Myrtle Beach run I averaged 22mpg.
For regular daily driving in the city I average about 15mpg and during our long winter it drops to 12mpg.
A Honda Civic it ain't.
But the overall pleasure I have with it compensates for its thirst of fossil fuel.
