Looking at another X5M now. It's a 2012 with ~46K miles. Just had a PPI done yesterday, and the report came back mentioning two problems that I haven't seen people mention before. Not sure if the dealership is just trying to pull a fast one and make some money. Current owner claims no signs of leaking oil ever. And no cooling problems ever.
Here are the two issues for which they quoted around $5k to repair.
Is this a disaster waiting to happen?
1) Oil Pan Gasket: *EST UPPER AND
LOWER OIL PAN GASKETS, BOLTS, OIL
LEVEL SENSOR SEAL, OIL COOLER
LINE ORINGS AT ENGINE, FULL OIL
CHANGE.
2) Charge Air Coolant Pump: *EST 02
Auxiliary water pump 1
