There'r always compromises between stealth, protection from damage/theft & unobstructed performance. Each has his own reason(s).
here's the way they did mine.
Front units:
Green tape shows location of mounting screws for the supplied brackets of rec'r & left & right shifters.
1st foto, looking down, shows 2 receiver mounting screws on the right side of the foto, & 2 screws for the right/passenger side shifter on the left side of the foto.
2 nd foto shows all 3 sets of mtg. screws from oblique angle.
3 rd foto shows rec'r thru the grill mesh below the passenger side kidney vent openings.
