Of course if u can install the display in the HUD area above the dash, so as to reflect up to the frt. windsheild, that would be superb!!

u need to place the cntrl module within reach to switch off the laser shifter, immediately, when u r hit with the 1st blast of a laser gun, then u slow down b 4 the cops hit u the 2nd time.
If u don't shut off ur shifter, for the cops to get a, hopefully, much lower reading, & u let the shifter work everytime u r being targeted, the cops will get wise that u've got a shifter working & pull u over anyways.
Especially if ur in states where shifters r illegal.

U'll need the concealed diode for night driving when ur not using/shut off the display module because drivers/police car passing in the next lane can see the blue glow.
Make sure the receivers r level, Otherwise they'll be pointing up in the sky @ 1000-1500 ft ahed.
When it comes to where best to mount the front rec'rs. u'll have to compromise between stealth & protection vs. parking damage & a clear unobstructed view ahead.
The rear rec'r is easier ovr the licence plate, w/ just enuf rm. to open the hatch manually.

Hope this helps.

Good info, I wasn't as concerned about control placement because i thought the laser shifter/jammer shut it self off after being hit and responding. I will need to think about where to put control.

I have watched a couple of videos (veil guy, radar roy, trap hunter, escort install) and looked at a lot of pictures on various forums about were to place detector and laser jammers. I have seen in front of lower grill, behind lower grill for jammers and behind fog lights, behind top grill for detector.

There seems to be a couple of schools of thought in detector placement, in one bimmer install it was placed behind lower driver side fog light in another behind plastic grill sitting high.

What I have come away with is the detector should go high (some swear behind fog ok) and the jammers low. best performance for jammers is low and in front of grill, the cons to this is damage and it's not very stealth.
Much of what i read stated putting them behind grill is fine as long as it's plastic
(escort's installation video shows this: http://www.escortradar.com/videos/P9...nstallVidR.wmv)

So I will most likely install detector behind upper grill (below kidney) and jammers behind lower grill just below front parking sensors.

I am still wrestling with were to place interior controls as I would like them to be somewhat stealth (if cop walks up to car doesn't do much good to to have sensors hidden if controls are easily visible) but accessible.

Do you know where they installed the control module front or back ?
