You didn't have to wait till after your service. You can "detune" it any time you want.

I went in for warranty service a few months ago and this is what I did:

*Detuned 3 days before service appointment
*Daily commute untuned for 3 days (data logging purposes, piece of mind, whatever superstition I had)
*Stuck key into car on the 3rd day of driving it
*Brought car to dealer and had it serviced
*Car came back with no eyebrows raised
*Tuned car back to pure awesomeness

And of course....YMMV

I hope this post will find google searches. I had this very question before I got the tune but no one can give me a clear indication that detuning the car before dealer can be pulled off.
