My 2007 3.0si had an engine overheat warning and then went into safe mode on the freeway. I started the car and heard a loud strange fan noise and thought something was not right. But no error or warning so I drove it on the freeway for 10mins and then a yellow engine temp warning binged telling to slow down and stop the car to let the engine cool down. I lost all power on the freeway and was going 40mph trying to move over to the right to find the first exit. Long story short its at the dealer and wont know anything until Monday.

Just wondering if any X5 owners had this issue and if you can share your fix or diagnoses.
