Correct to what the last poster stated. Significantly stronger, but again it depends on who makes the wheel. Seen plenty of one piece "forged" wheels from manufacturer X crack under high G cornering or load rating was not made to spec. I had asked Omar for example at Velos about a few wheels in 20 inch for my X5M and he stated to me that the size, engineering and design would not be adequate for the X5M and was not built to to accommodate in a 20 inch. In a bigger size, yes.
Just a quick recent example that I found incredibly helpful and extremely appreciative and honest from his end. As an end result he got my $$!
