Let someone else take the depreciation hit, nothing wrong with buying used, if it saves you 40-50% off a near-new X5. If it's under 4yrs/50k miles, you can always add a BMW warranty to the car from any BMW dealer (Shop around for the best price, it varies by over $1000) or buy a 3rd-party warranty that many other dealers offer.
