Anyone have a clue as to why it isn't required for the x5/6m to go through break-in service like the other m's?

Steve how is your car at the 25k mark, any problems on the way?
The truck runs perfect and it is as good as it was the day I picked it up. There was one service campaign that they asked me to bring the car in for but otherwise no issue at all.

I think the reason that the X5-6M does not need a 1200 mile break-in is that it is a lower compression lower reving FI engine compared to the high-comp high-rev NA motors that have tighter tolerances to achieve and maintain their compression ratio.

BMW pays for maintenance for all their new cars and I expect that they look forward to CPOing cars that come off lease.

So to me, they balance maintenance costs with long term durability. its not like their cars fall apart the second you turn your lease in......Steve
