According to the individual who did the conversion in Germany, it was much less involved than what PSI stated (..although I can see where body work may be needed. The portion of the bumper than mates to the fender flare seems to go a millimeter or two inward/off line). Aside from that individual having to upgrade to LCI fenders, everything else seemed to be a "bolt on" affair. I emailed the shop that did his conversion and I'm waiting to hear back. I'll be doing this conversion in the next month, so I will also be able to confirm whether or not the conversion is problematic.

Cutting isn't required. A non-M X5 doesn't have a reflector at/near the mounting point like the X5M, so it's a non issue. There won't be a reflector there on a non-M X5.
