I have the AA stage 2 on my M and have had zero issues. I feel that your safe as long as you go to a shop that does a high volume of vehicles, (AA, Velos, etc), because they are always perfecting their tunes.
I know that if there is any issues with my truck I can contact AA and they will do everything they can to remedy the problem by creating a custom tune for my truck. Having said that, you shouldn't need such service if your vehicle isn't modified in an unusual way. They've tuned thousands and know the best, reliable parameters for the vehicle. Just my .02
