I've been looking at new X5's for the last year or so and I think I'm ready to pull the trigger on a leftover '12 50i . I was liking the 35i but i keep hearing about more fuel pump failures and other 35i issues that have been around since that motor was introduced.

I'm feeling more confident with the 50i in spite of the fuel consumption factor simply because I'm not finding a lot of evidence of reliability issues with the drivetrain.

Are the 50i really that reliable?? Has anyone encountered any issues with this motor?
