No modifications necessary at BMW and it states pretty much everything you need to do on riv.ca to get it imported. Some people have replaced their speedometers, but it's not necessary as x5's have both km/mph. Nothing required for Canadian emissions from what I can tell, only have to get it out of province inspection if it has over 5000 kms.
