I've posted previously on this: for years I have been trying to figure out whether or not multi-contour seats are a plug-and-play conversion ...

My tentative conclusion is:

a. if you have the right yellow multi-plug in your wiring harness in the floor, then your car is pre-wired and more than likely compatible with M/C seats. This would make sense from a work flow on the factory floor. The most likely candidates are e70's with sport seats. Not sure about pre-LCI vs LCI ...

b. the next step would be to make sure that the m/c seats your buying has the seat module. These are located under the seat. Once installed, the car has to be coded to accept the different seat. I suspect that if this is not done properly, that the car would not start since it may think that it has been in an accident ...

c. I've been in touch with the seller, $400 is an excellent price ... but there are still a lot of important safety unknowns. E.g. he doesn't know if these seats came out of a car that was involved in a significant collision of any sort. The seats may, or may not have a bend frame. He also doesn't know if the pyrotechnic seat belt pre-tensioners have been activated (approx $120/ea), or if the seat modules are affected. The seats came out of a MY 2009. That means build in 2008, so pre-LCI.

d. the seller won't ship. But if you want to make your own arrangements, expect to pay about $100/seat. They need to be secured on a pallet and shipped by motorfreight ...

All in all too many variables and unknowns for me, but if anyone here is going to do it, I'd be VERY interested in knowing the results!
