Also in general I would think a car alarm might deter petty thieves, but not those sophisticated enough to be able to program a blank key and/or intercept and emulate wireless RFID signals to start the car, which is how the remote entry (Comfort Access) works.

Yes this is what I was talking about, the articles made it sound like it was an everyday occurrence and growing. It suggested that it was easy for any petty thief to get the device off the internet and do this. I'm not going to worry.
