the plastic cog has nothing to do with the shuddering issue. The cog strips and causes ABS, Brake and 4x4 light to come on (i believe that's the 3). As said above, if its shuddering in turns then its a mechanical failure of the clutch assembly. You can try replacing the fluid and resetting the T-case adaptations but most likely it'll need to be rebuilt or replaced
