I think BMW is currently in the business of cooking its motors just to eek out every ounce of fuel economy they can to meet government standards. It's not a recipe for longevity, but BMW is basically a lease company that doesn't seem to care about what the cars are doing 10+ years from now. I'd do it in a heartbeat.
