the timing chain is a 8K fix. I wouldn't mess around with it. Is it slightly louder when warm? If you are under warranty, I would do everything in my power to get this taken care of before 50K. |
It is louder at idle and after the car warms up it is better and eventually inaudible.
I will record it and post it.

Sounds normal to me. I think the majority of our M's do this. My co workers comment on mine after start up, sounds poopy and like a snake rattler until warm up if that's what your referring too.
