I agree with the mathematical differences between the 2 fuel types. My commute and driving style will not change with the diesel. So, I will come out ahead if the prices stay within 30 to 40 cents of petrol. I do recall that over summer the difference was 10 to 15 cents.

I bought the diesel for not only the mpg, but it will be fun vehicle to drive. I got the options that I wish I had in my 2010 petrol, such as active drive, muti-contour seats and HUD. Plus, to me the 2011 and newer X5 drove a little better and could be due to the changes made in 2011 model year. This could just be me.

My SAV is build and should be at the dealer this week. Can't wait to take delivery.
