According to following tread from Chinese automobile media Autohome
http://www.autohome.com.cn/news/201406/812859.html, some new images show the new dashboard much more similar with current M5/M6 rather than new generation X6(F16) which equips 10.25 inch digital dash launched last week. Most part of interior seems to be reused from new X6 but gear has different style which is actually same as the M cars features M-DCT gearbox, you can also see a small button for three level of shifting logic as M6/M5/M4/M3 behind the gear and three buttons are located on left side which are responsible for different settings for Steering response,Throttle and suspension hardness respectively. Given that, I would take a wild guess that seven-speed double clutch gearbox would be as standard option on new X5M/X6M in place of old 6-speed steptronic auto transmission and new 8-speed transmission in new X5/X6. It's really a good news as M-DCT possibly deliverys the best performance in its segment(before PDK is equipped in new Porsche cayenne as rumored). Furthermore, X6M,X5M will definitely feature AWD system as predecessor which means M-DCT now is already adapted to X-drive and this will also be leveraged to next-generation M5/M6, anyway, hopefully more and more details can be clear during next couple of months before X5M/X6M is officially announced at the end of this year.
