Got my X6 back today. The Service Advisor said that BMW decided to replace all the spark plugs in the V8 50i with different ones. I'm not sure of the reason, or what the difference is. Anyway, here's what the paperwork says:
PERFORM N63 S63 SPARK PLUGS B12 22 09
CAMPAIGN
RECALL
REPLACED ALL SPARK PLUGS, DC 00 12 79 02 L0 00 58 832
18FRU
The parts used were listed as:
QTY 8, FP # 12-12-0-037-051, SPARK PLUG, HIGH P0
BTW--An alignment with active steering took 2 days and cost $345.00. Apparently, my dealer still isn't very familiar with X6, and he said they get very few of any car with active steering. But, they got it right--drives great.
Also BTW--The loaner they gave me was a 2010 528i with the "new" iDrive, with the HighRes display, hard drive nav, and all the buttons around the wheel. I gotta say (and I know this is open for criticism) that I prefer the old iDrive. Faster to boot up aside, I found it harder to use and more menu laden. Even more glad I got the 2009 X6 with the previous generation!
