I'm sure there's plenty of X5M's that run just fine w/ few issues, but typically people don't post that sort of thing on the forums. Or those people aren't on forums. Not saying issues don't exist though - there's lots of posts like yours
I have the xDrive50i and haven't had any issues, though I did buy it CPO so I wouldn't expect any.
