So in less than 5 minutes of searching I can find an AGM Battery specifically suited for the F30 chassis and ASS system of a 3.0 liter engine, weighing only ~16 pounds more than the LI-ION battery, and costing over $800 less.
My point is: In 4-6 years or so, when you MIGHT need to start thinking about a new battery, expect there to be options that cost less than $300 and have a very similar weight rating.
My guess is that unless you live in the arctic circle, there will be battery options with fewer CCA and reserve power that are AGM and weigh in around 30-35 pounds. Maybe you'll need to put a foam block near them to lock them in place - no big deal.

Yes, you can get a battery that physically fits and supplies enough current. But again, that doesn't actually address
keeping the battery charged.
