I thought the 255/50/19 wheel looked way out of place on my M - just way too narrow, especially on the rear. Even with a 25mm spacer it was extrememly tucked. The 275/40/20 set up fits the vehicle much, much better. I just couldn't drive around on ridiculous looking wheels and tires 5 months of the year.

Nokians are the best winter wheels I have driven on, and the studded Hakkas are simply amazing. But they are maximized for handling winter weather and keeping you on the road, not performance. There are all kinds of winter tires, and they all are designed for a particular purpose. Match your purpose with a tire designed for that purpose and you will be happy. I don't have the luxury of staying home when weather gets bad, so for me, a tire designed to handle anything at the expense of performance serves me well.
Yes, agree with you. For my purposes, the 298M wheels with the Good Years are working fine, as this isn't a daily driver. And, with the X drive there isn't too much that will stop this for even the most novice of drivers (of which I am not). The price of the 298M set is crazy, but as I pointed out to the OP, there is a set for sale on eBay for $1750 which is not a bad price. I happened to find mine with 3 months usage for $1000!!! A set of spacers and I was off. I'll take the slightly narrow look and find something else to do with the extra cash.

But, all things being said, your setup is very nice. And my set is on 5 months also so I definitely need something safe that will also look good going by everyone else!
