Yes, that's what everyone is waiting for.
These are the two options thrown around:
1. McLaren 2015.
2. Sabbatical for 1 year until a seat opens at Mercedes IF Lewis joins McLaren for 2016.
Likely it will be a mix where he joins Mclaren in a multi-year contract with a performance clause that give him the option to leave after 2015 should the team not be one of the top 3 in the constructors championship.
If I were Mclaren I would play hardball and just deny a performance clause. If they have a fast car they'll get a top driver easy enough and if they have a slow car, well then the money is better spent addressing that then Alonso's contract. Lewis would be crazy to commit to McLaren now so Alonso would make a big gamble on a sabbatical and Benz seat and Mclaren know it
