Don't worry to much, just sand till your imperfections are gone, just need to use what's in the kit and 0 sand marks will be present, you need to buff just as much as sanding so take your time, just with the kit and nothing else I was able to achieve 100 percent like new appearance. I will post pics later of my mini headlight.

No and I mean no swirls or scratches present.

Just takes time and a little courage.
