I have seen them installed both ways: prestained and not. This allows me to be very selective on the color of staining. Not too concerned about rot as this particular fence comes with a 20yr Guarantee. And yes, it certainly will add value to our homes price when we sell as buyers around here desire big privacy fences like this. Our boys are in elementary at the moment and we anticipate being here @ 5 more years.
Also the steel posts are MUCH more sturdier than wood posts and can withstand very strong winds as they are cemented 3ft under ground.
