Surprisingly, this past weekend we had a little BMW run and I was doing some crazy runs up to 150.. Over and over.. Had it in M mode the entire time and after all was said and done I only burned a quarter tank over 42mi of driving and still got 280+ miles to the tank.

I never came close to 280 miles on a tank of gas...my typical routine was to turn M mode off, use D, and set the cruise at 80 for my commute, which was 90% turnpike/hwy miles. Yet despite that...I'd get around 200 miles per tank and I watched the range go down while coasting downhill on many occasions. Loved the SUV, but I switched to a 550i which gets much better gas mileage because of the 8-speed. I really don't like it, though, so I'm looking to switch back to an X5 50i M-sport as a compromise and get a Dinan tune.
