Yes I am kind of spinning the wheel just for two years or so. Also, I prefer to minimize the possibilities of disasters until they are upon me. Less stressful overall.

Your X5 is coming right up on the mileage where all sorts of stuff could potentially need replacing. I just did a ton of stuff on mine at 55K miles. Given that, you might consider a warranty, even if it's just a 2 year warranty. They aren't too expensive, especially the shorter duration ones.
