for most places in the U.S., 1%'s could afford a McLaren. Make $420k, bring home $250k, live on $200k and put $50k a year into a car. Not too hard to get the $200k for the "cheap" ones. Wouldn't necessarily make it a good decision for many but they could afford it.
I disagree on the "any car" and I disagree on the 1%'s in the world, looks like they are making above about $32k a year.
