I wish I saw this two years ago. I had this issue with my '13 X6M and the noise made my ears bleed. And of course, when I went to the dealer and took the tech for a ride, it didn't happen.
I'd aim for road imperfections and silence! So far the '16 is quiet. I'll have to remember this thread just in case.
