Try finding a wireless sniffer app for iOS or Mac OS. I'm not an Apple person so you'll have to do some digging. You need to find out if you're suffering from co-channel interference. This is the fallout from the misconception of wanting to have a wireless router/AP blast out the hotest signal possible. If everyone around you is doing the same, you're going to run into this interference problem.

Do you know if you're using 2.4 or 5GHz for your wireless connection? 5GHz is the preferred airspace as it has more available non-overlapping channels to choose from. Do you know if you're connecting at G, N, or AC?
