Glad you got it taken care of!
Axle will most likely be fine as long as there is no binding in its normal operating range. I've pinched, bound, and really abused my axles while swapping diffs and they work just fine.
If you do have issues and decide to change it I would highly recommend you get the DPTool output shaft kit on amazon. It makes an incredibly frustrating/near impossible job a breeze.
