mpgs are already getting a little better. I have driven about 60/40 city driving/hwy/tollroad driving and with 200 miles on odometer I have a 1/4 tank left and the onboard computer is now showing 12.7mpg. Have not driven it aggressive at all since my original post.
I will also have to say that turbo lag has been very minimal so whatever BMW did in delaying availability due to this seems to have helped.
