IMHO I like DTEC better, here is my reasoning.
both design use 8 Cree XT-E LEDs per bulb, DTEC all 8 are white while LUX uses 4-white and 4-blue LEDs, it support biasing circuit to dim those LEDs to create a hue of white to blue (BUT with less light cause all 4-white on with 4-blue off will produce less brightness than all 8 white on).
Also from experience, you need to open the headlamp cap and change the biasing circuit manually then put the everything back, it's really tight in there so changing the color is a bit of hassle, unless they make a remote where you can change it on the fly.
