X5 definitly does have comfort access. without comfort access, the key would need to stay in the car at all times while its on.
the only difference between the 528 and the X5 was the key itself. 528 has the new big chubby key, while the x5 is the bmw classic fob with comfort access.

I had originally thought it was not possible based on my experience with the 528. but i assure you that is the case. will take video of it if needed.

your replies are leading me to believe there is something wrong with the car and should get it checked out
